mowing the lawn.

even though our riding lawnmower is temporarily out of commission, the several acres of non-pasture-grass will not stop growing. in the meantime, we have resorted to using a regular old push mower. dang if it ain't hard! i had never cut a blade of grass until we moved out here and i thought i was really doing something by maneuvering the craftsman riding mower. but after today, i realized i was kidding myself. riding mowers are for amateurs. push mowers are serious! thankfully, our push mower is front propelled. but even so, it is quite a workout. i figure i probably walked about 5 miles today with resistance.

if there was only some way to harness the animals onto some kind of grass-eating sleigh ride....
