dreaming of a white turkey...

"big white" is his name. not very creative, i know. but he IS our only white turkey AND he is ginormous.

not much to post. well, actually there probably is. but i've been in a funk. it happens around this time every year. the holidays. why do they always... 1.) sneak up on me 2.) make me feel inferior (to what or whom i do not know?) and 3.) cause me to freak the F out! it's quite pathetic, i know. it's all in me lil'ole nutty head. but i sure wish i'd learn to devise a preemptive detour. but alas, here i am. in the doldrums. fun, fun.

the forecast calls for snow. i've got my fingers crossed. would love to wake up to a field of white. and i'm not just talking turkey.

the best christmas ever.

i know i say it every year. but this really was the best christmas ever. and it took me by surprise. i was anticipating a bleak and meager holiday. but thanks to a loving family and a few secret santas, hope was reborn. it is amazing how contagious good cheer is. and once again i was filled with christmas spirit. cookies were baked. ornaments were made. presents were acquired. candles were lit. smiles were flashed. and good tidings were shared. and i am reminded of how blessed i am to be surrounded by so much love.

hippy christmas: the final cut and never before seen out-takes.

last weekend was the annual christmas card photo shoot. to read more about it check out choppy & mr daniels dogster blogs. above is the finished product. not too shabby considering what we had to work with (two totally spastic dogs and a bunch of stuff we found around the house). here are some of the outtakes along with a few misc pics of our tree trimming trip.

hippy chop

"what is our motivation?"

"i'm a love donkey, not a hate donkey"

amber coaches the dogs.

"dang this is a big tree!"

"mom, don't be alarmed but there is a tree in the house"

notice the tile! we finally finished. fireplace needs a mantel update. but the floor is perfecto!

the out-takes.

what the public doesn't see when beagles pose for christmas cards. it is not pretty.
