since i called weeks ago to have our phone & dsl switched to our new home, the phone company has messed up our order numerous times. the connect/disconnect date kept changing. from the 27th to the 4th, back to the 27th and now finally the 3rd. then last thursday our dsl stopped working. the company said that's because phone and dsl were being switched on that day. but meanwhile, our old phone line continues to work and new line doesn't. per my last conversation (which took over 30 minutes of waiting thru endless phone prompts and then being transferred 3 times - each time having to be put on hold and having to listen to prerecorded messages telling me how great the phone company is) they told me that new phone would be up tomorrow but that the dsl had been cancelled. cancelled? they couldn't tell me why. but they could have it connected by the 9th. and they'd give us one month free. gee thanks (which only really comes out to 2 weeks free because it will have not worked for 2 of those weeks). then they had the nerve to say "thanks for choosing SBC" - what other option do i have???
the kicker is the customer service guy i just spoke with said i might be getting a survey follow-up call and he said "be sure to tell them you are pleased with the service you received". right!
