porkchop's 6th birthday.

porkchop turned 6 yesterday. hard to believe a little orphaned pup with pre-cancer and heartworm would be living such a long and prosperous life. he's traveled across the country, swam in the ocean, vacationed in branson, hunted rabbits and the occasional deer, rode a tractor, gone canoeing, dined on filet mignon and lamb, developed a keen taste for clementines and coffee, and yesterday he ate a bountiful birthday dinner of devilled egg, ham skin, turkey, stuffing, bisquits and gravy. shine on you crazy hound dog!

ode to henry.

henry rook, son of angie and john ruxlow, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home early this february of 2006. henry was a true survivor. he survived parvo, a fatal disease that effects only puppies. he later survived pancreatitis shortly after recovering from parvo. despite his rocky beginnings, he thrived and lived out many, many happy years enjoying trips to his grandma's house in potosi, missouri. henry possesed an impeccable sense of style which was reflected in his wide selection of sport jackets and sweaters.
