my handsome bearded dragon, abraham, passed away this afternoon due to natural causes. i am deeply saddened. he was a good lizard. he loved to eat, had a sweet tooth for tomatoes, and was a great aid in helping abolish the dreaded hornworm infestation of 2008. once the weather clears, he will be buried in the yard next to his dear friend, chelsea.

we got home from rita's around 7pm. we all were happy and full and satisfied. all except abraham, that is. he looked so pitiful when we walked in the door rubbing our bellies. so, we decided to prepare him a little feast of his own: turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. i think he liked the pie the best. me too.

i never thought i would love a lizard. but then along came abraham. he's a bearded dragon. he's named after president lincoln, who also had a beard. jason brought him home for me when he was just a baby. i used to call him little man. but now he's too big for that. soon he will be driving and doing his own taxes.
